2010 General Assembly Session

The 2010 Virginia General Assembly convened in Richmond on January 13th and adjourned on March 13th.

Commonwealth legislators filed nearly 3,000 bills and resolutions.

Much of the session was focused on how to address the Commonwealth's $4.2 billion budget shortfall, which from the outset made progress on transportation funding highly unlikely.

There is some speculation that Governor Bob McDonnell will call for a special session of the General Assembly dedicated to transportation later this year.
