On September 28, 2011, the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance hosted its 7th Annual What You Need to Know About Transportation Seminar at Capital One in McLean. The event attracted over 250 attendees, including many state and local officials, and candidates.
Education has always been a fundamental part of the Alliance's mission. The Alliance was founded nearly 25 years ago on the premise that a well-informed public is key to better transportation.
The event featured some of the region's and state's foremost transportation leaders and professionals, including Virginia Secretary of Transportation, Sean T. Connaughton; Northern Virginia Transportation Authority Chairman, Marty Nohe; Metro General Manager & CEO, Richard Sarles; and Virginia Railway Express CEO, Dale Zehner.
